Jillian Michaels endorses the BodyMedia Fit personal weight management system and we know that she doesn’t mess around. The BodyMedia Fit LINK armband is Bluetooth enabled which syncs with your mobile phone so you can see up to the minute calories in and calories out during the day. We were excited to receive our Bodymedia Fit CORE armband (which doesn’t have Bluetooth) and get started.
What we instantly realized was that with just the CORE armband we couldn’t see any of our progress on the device; activity, steps taken or calories burned. It’s hard to get motivated when you “think” you are being active but not really sure if you are active enough. At www.bodymedia.com you are prompted to install software and set up an account. The armband does come with a quick smart manual and a bit more extensive manual which we found helpful. The process online to set up your armband is very seamless and self explanatory.
Back to the part of not knowing whether we are being active enough; the dashboard in your account does track activity, calories burned etc. when you sync your armband through a cable to your computer but that means you need to be near your computer and hook the armband up to see what you are doing. That isn’t very useful during the day. If you are ask your desk messing with this you are not out being active.
We researched and found that there is BodyMedia Fit display that is an accessory for purchase. Though we have been using the armband for a week and connecting it to our account every night to see what we have been up to, we just clipped on the display this morning and now with the display which looks like the face of a watch, we are able to see in real time; calories, steps, activity and target goal.
We think that will help a lot. Now when we “think” we’ve stepped and stepped our way toward slimdom looking at the display will bring us back to reality. Hmm…now that we have a display we’ll have to come up with a new excuse.
